My journey to becoming a somatic movement healer has been one of profound transformation and deep inner healing. It’s been a path of rediscovery, self-acceptance, and learning to find joy in the freedom of movement. Along the way, I’ve freed myself from the weight of trauma, reconnected with my body, and found purpose in guiding other women to experience this same liberation.
In 2022, my life hit a breaking point. My body, exhausted from years of burnout, was barely able to function. My energy was so depleted that even moving felt impossible. In my darkest moments, it was my inner child, that younger part of me who had once found freedom in dance, who urged me to get up and move. When I was a child, dancing was my sanctuary, a way to release the stress that reality imposed on me, and my body knew it was time to find love in movement again. It was then that I began to listen more deeply to what my body truly needed. I realised then that my body was asking me to move again, to release, to heal. It was my body’s plea to reclaim the vitality it had lost.
This journey took me back to nature, away from the toxicity of a city life and a career that had drained me. Leaving my job and embracing the natural world became the first essential steps to breaking free from the cages I had built around myself—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Once in this healing space, I began doing healing work with hypnotherapy, meditation and talk therapy however even though all these things were helping me to understand logically, I was still in a cycle of looping over the same stories and memories. My mind was either in the past or getting lost in the daydream of my future self, I was never in the present moment. It wasn’t until I reconnected with my body that I began unraveling layers of pain I hadn’t even realised I was holding onto. I started using somatic movement to release the emotional charges attached to traumatic memories, untethering myself from a past that had once bound me.
However, my relationship with my body was a complex one. For years, I struggled with disordered eating and body dysmorphia, trapped in a cycle of self-criticism and dissatisfaction. My body felt like something to be controlled, something that was never “right” no matter how hard I worked. I saw movement as a punishment, a way to “be smaller” and I thought that would finally bring me peace. But instead, it brought exhaustion, frustration, and self-loathing. It was only through my healing journey that I learned to love my body for what it could do, not how it looked. Movement became a source of joy, not punishment, a way to connect with myself, with community and with the divine and express my emotions rather than to erase or reshape them.
Through this transformation, I began to speak my truth in ways I never had before. My voice, once suppressed, became a powerful tool in my healing, a way to honour my experiences and claim my right to be seen and heard. And in a pivotal breakthrough, what I’d been struggling to transform for years suddenly shifted in just weeks of practicing the SAH method. It was as if my body finally felt safe enough to let go. I understood that healing could be rapid and transformative when we allow ourselves to truly listen to our bodies and honour their wisdom.
In my work, I help women do exactly that—find peace within their bodies, use movement as a joyful expression, and release the trauma they have been hauling around all their life. I guide them in reclaiming control over their lives, helping them to break free from cycles of self-judgment, whether from the weight of past abuse or the inner critic that tells us we aren’t enough. Having overcome my own struggles with addiction and self-sabotage, I know the courage it takes to let go of behaviours we cling to in times of pain, and I know the freedom that awaits on the other side.
Today, my life’s work is dedicated to helping women let go of the past, reconnect with their bodies, love themselves fully, and find their voices. Movement has become not just a practice but a celebration—a way to express who I am without fear or shame. I believe in the healing power of somatic movement to unlock emotional freedom, bring us back into our own bodies, and ultimately, guide us toward peace and purpose. This is not just my profession; it is my calling and my gift to share with others. I am here to help women free themselves, as I am freeing myself, so they too can live lives unburdened by trauma and full of joyful movement. Ive learned that healing isn’t something done in isolation its for community, so let’s come together, be present and move forward with our lives.
